About us

History at a glance

Noraccom Inc. was formed in 1982 to provide self-funded, community-based accommodation for adults with an intellectual disability. A group of parents, whose own children with a disability were nearing adulthood, recognised the lack of appropriate accommodation. They took the initiative in purchasing, building and servicing houses to meet the needs of their family members. Noraccom now includes four houses on two adjacent properties, providing a home and community for 17 residents.

What is Noraccom?

Noraccom is a not for profit organisation providing accommodation for adults with a mild intellectual disability. Our service is unique in that we strive to encourage each resident/individual to maximise their independence within the security of a semi-supported environment. Noraccom fosters a sense of community among our residents and their families. Each resident has a private bedroom with en-suite bathroom and shares communal lounge, kitchen, laundry, outdoor space and recreational areas.
The residents are supported by a care worker from 3.30 pm – 7.30 am daily, with an additional care worker from 4-10 pm, under the supervision of a part-time manager.
